• Bloggers, freelancers, or solo marketers

When Should You Choose the 7-Day Free Trial?

The Semrush 7-day free trial is the right choice if

• You want to run a full site audit before committing to a paid plan
• You need to do competitor keyword research in depth

Which Is Better—a free account or a free trial?

For serious bloggers, SEOs, and content marketers, the 7-day free trial is significantly more valuable. You get full access to every tool in the Pro or Guru plan with zero restrictions during those 7 days. The free account, while useful for beginners, is too limited to give you a real picture of what Semrush can do.

Think of it this way:

Free Account: A test drive around the car park
7-Day Free Trial = A full week on the open road

Which One Is Right for You?

• Choose the free account if you are a beginner who wants to explore Semrush occasionally without any commitment.
• Choose the 7-Day Free Trial if you want full, unrestricted access to run site audits, keyword research, competitor analysis, and backlink checks—with zero limitations.

Bottom line: The free account gives you a glimpse. The 7-day free trial gives you the full power of Semrush—use it wisely, and you will have enough data to fuel your SEO strategy for months.

What you will find: A 3–6 month content calendar backed entirely by real search data — no guesswork.

✅ Checklist: Competitor top pages reviewed → Question keywords found → Topic clusters mapped

---

Day 6: Set Up Rank Tracking and Baseline

Goal: Establish your keyword ranking baseline before the trial ends—so you keep the data even if you do not upgrade immediately.

• Go to Position Tracking → Set up a new campaign for your domain
• Add your top 20–30 target keywords (include keywords from Days 2–5)
• Set your target location and device (desktop and mobile separately)
• Run the first tracking report and note your current positions
• Export the baseline report — you will not lose this data even after the trial ends if you save it

What you will find: Your exact starting positions for every keyword you care about are the foundation for measuring all future SEO progress.

✅ Checklist: Position Tracking campaign set up → Baseline report exported → Keyword positions noted

• If cancelling: Go to → Profile icon → Subscription Info → Cancel Subscription before your trial expires
• Set a phone alarm for Day 6 evening as a reminder—do not forget.
